Diet and Fitness - Dieting

  1. Look back at old photos of yourself and how you used to look compared to how you look now.
  2. Try some old clothes on - you know those smaller size ones you've not worn for months, seeing how much nearer you are wearing them (or them even being too big!)
  3. Keep a diary. If ever you feel like giving up read it and see how you much better you feel after you started your diet and started losing weight!
  4. Keep good foods handy and get rid of the bad foods you can't resist. This'll help you not feel tempted to cheat.
  5. Believe in yourself. Know that you can do this and you will get there in the end.
  6. Talk to a friend who understand you - someone who'll be supportive. They'll want to help you achieve your goals.
  7. Go swimming or out for a long walk. Excercise will help your diet and it will also help you - the endorphins released will improve your mood and get the blood pumping round your body.
  8. Plan ahead - work out what you're going to cook for the whole family in advance. It'll give you something to stick to!
  9. Be ruthless with leftovers and snacks. Either feed them the birds or put them in the bin.
  10. If you ever get a pang of hunger and feel like eating the first thing you can find - normally chocolate or crisps, drink a glass of water. Hunger pangs are mistaken for thirst a lot of the time!

Newsflash

  • Now that the new and improved Bits 'n Bumps is up and running we will be working hard to keep the content new and up to date for our users. Our current featured section is 'Family Matters'.

The Family Matters section is one of the most important here at Bits 'n Bumps. If it wasn't for our familes, then the founders wouldn't have met and you wouldn't have this great website! As a result we're very family orientated, and at one time or another have all gone through every stage of family life you can imagine.

  • Our forum is now live. Please take a few minutes to register and have a look around, there's something for everyone to be found!
  • You can now create your very own tickers at Bits 'n Bumps’s partner site; TICKERTASTIC!! Tickers are commonly used in forums to display pregnancy progress, children’s ages or countdowns to any special event you choose, and the resulting code can simply be added to your signature on most forums and online communities.

  • The all new and improved look Bits 'n Bumps is finally here. We have spent a lot of time upgrading the look and feel of the site and associated community. We hope you’re pleased and look forward to receiving your feedback!
